Man, what a great on going discussion by K. Barnes and Irina Alexander. I know I am a bit slow here. Just catching up as I have been busy with work et al. Still, some great discussion and links by both. I am still trying to get both my groups #9 and #16 together as one. We meet as one group. But, in the MeetUp boards etc. it still is listed as 2 seperate groups. Any thoughts here? I welcome any assist that can be given. K. Barnes, you emailed me concerning this once before. I followed your suggestion with no results. Not as yet anyway. But, I THANK YOU for your input.

I also want to extend here, a WELCOME to a new member on the #16 group.

Darrel K. Magee.

It's great to have a new member. We are growing here in San Francisco. With over 20 people showing up to March's meeting. Not all are "member's" as yet. Some people I find do not like to spend so much time on the computer. I am working on getting these people to sign up as member's to our local #16 chapter. For some reason I prefer this number over #9. Must be a mental thing, you think? People who showed up thanks to my persistant emails and local invitations.

For the past 2 months the band, The Funkanauts, performed after our MeetUp Meeting. Thanks to Jason and the rest of the band member's. We will have something special again for April as well. For March I showed a DVD Video of "The George Duke Band" LIVE in Japan and featuring Louis Johnson on BASS! Was great in 5.1 surround sound and on an 8x8 screen for all to see.
And THANKS to Judi's Place for letting us meet here every month. Thus, even the bar patrons also get involved. And we are ongoing with our planning of the "Summer Funk Jam."

Other's in the Bay Area are welcome to come and attend. Oakland? You out there? You are welcome to join us. And I would welcome attending one of your meetings as well. I will keep all posted with what is happening as time permits and as activities continue to flourish.

Have a great day!

hey man right on for replying!!,im having a slow responce getting the world to jump on this board; but here in chicago although its only three of us here glover a (drummer) ,aleata she's a funky (bassplayer) & myself (a basspplayer), we all stay in touch through the board & we are all in bands too so when one of us has a gig we go check it out ,,,,but one way to get people to get more in-tune to what's going is they can just visit the message board hang-out & read cause theres sooo much here to dig-into,even if they are not members,so thats why i filled up te board (& if you have anything to add go ahead :links etc,,,) jump rite on in!,,,,but the main thing rite now is getting people to gravitate to the board so they can see that some-one is home!so tell all your friends!!!!biggrinhttp://www.jamchicago...

Hi Keavin ! I am fine - I am actually very well. You know where I got to this strand from ? - From the link you posted at the Paris group !

I'v been checking that group because a couple of my good friends live in Paris. I am actually trying to get them (Alexandrina and Quais) to sign and perhaps lead the group. We'll see.

By the way - would be good to post same sort of link as you posted there - to the strand on WWB with the appeals for Letters to Chick - for people to get directly from their page - on the groups Meetup Board or on others - directly to the Letter to Chick.

By the way- I actually meant to respond to you on the Paris page - but got yanked out directly to here. Stay little longer in Paris - what's on Paris Jazz seen this days ?

Irina.

Hi Gregorio !

About the Group # 9. I How about this:

1. Everyone signs to group #16
2. You Delete members from Group #9
3. Ask the WG or the Meetup.com to reassign the #9 to another City of your choice where there is not a group yet. It can be abroad.
4.1 . Stand down and leave the WG there - some place in Budapest.
4.2 Alternatively - choose a city you might actually want to visit and stay as organizer there for awhile until the locals sign up and take initiative.

What do you think ?

Good Luck ! Irina

PS : I was wondering what's with these two-groups arrangement too.
